Effect of Titanium Based Alloys on Thermo-Mechanical Behavior in 3D Forging Simulation

Titanium has been one of the traditional metals used in medical industry since 1940. This work modeled and simulated a hip-joint replacement implant using Creo 5.0 DEFORM 3D (v11.0), respectively. Four titanium-based billets were modeled; out four billets, three coated with specified thickness, was uncoated. Among billet 500-micron two 1000-micron thickness. At end simulation, coating materials formed patches on surface forged parts. The material Ti-6Al-4V (high O2) produced excellent mechanical properties contrast to CP-Ti material, which displayed low did not match core property. Hence, it suggested provide bulk improve physio-mechanical biocompatibility. points selected parts at different locations for identifying property variations concerning forging time. Results found that thickness required more side than upper lower surfaces enhance its properties.
